The DES-1050G is a high port-density unmanaged 10/100Mbps Ethernet switch designed to be a cost-effective work-group connection. Equipped with 48 10/100 Mbps ports and 2 Copper/SFP Gigabit ports in a low-profile rack-mountable metal case, this switch provides low-cost connections for 48 workstations, plus 2 Gigabit connections to 2 servers on the twisted-pair network or fiber optic cables, allowing you to easily expand your network with an economical and high performance switch.
Easy Network Expansion
The switch provides 2 Copper/SFP Gigabit ports for server connection on the Cat. 5 twisted-pair network or fiber optic cables. These ports can also be used to cascade the switches together to expand the number of ports available for network connections. Copper/SFP Gigabit ports provide an alternative solution to fiber-optic or copper twisted-pair wires as the transmission media, allowing you to instantly upgrade your servers to Gigabit capability without requiring you to install new, expensive fiber cables.
Plug and Play
All ports support auto-negotiation of MDI/MDIX cross over. This eliminates the need for cross over cables or uplink ports. Any port can simply plug to a workstation, a server, a hub or a switch, using a straight-throughtwisted-pair cable, saving you time and money. With 50 plug-and-play ports, the switch is a perfect choice for workgroups to upgrade performance in a client/server environment. The ports can be connected to workstations and servers in full-duplex, or hubs in half-duplex.
Flow Control for Secure Transmission.
The DES-1050G provides 802.3x standard flow control to minimize dropped packets by sending out collision signals when the port’s receiving buffer is full. This allows you to safely deploy Gigabit servers operating at 2000 Mbps full duplex mode for simultaneous access from workstations without risk of losing data.
